SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE YOUTH RODEO ASSOCIATION

 

 

 

POINTS ARE POSTED UNDER STANDINGS 

All we have been invited to participate in a youth rodeo in Odenville Alabama on 5 May at the St Clair Arena. Details are available at our family rodeo on 28 April.  Montana Silversmith buckles will be awarded to all around cowboy/girl in each age group. 

What a great start to the 2012 Youth Rodeo season.  We welcome our new friends and members for our February and March rodeo.  This season promises to be a good one.  Come join us!!  We are offering a membership drive. For every member who brings in a new member we will wave one entry fee.

Our next Rodeo is 28 April.  NOTE!!! New start time is 2:00 P.M. with proctice starting at 12:00 P.M. 

 

April's Rodeo is our first Family Rodeo of the season.  Everyone is welcome to come to the Rodeo and ride.  Parents, Grandparents, friends, brothers and sisters.

Board members met and voted on our course of action for 2012.  Minutes are posted on the standings page.  New board officers were elected.  We are looking for some great parents to help and volunteer to become board members.  See our contact us page to call us and volunteer.   

2012 is going to be even better than 2011.  Look for an overhaul of our Rodeo structure and procedures.

*******Each rodeo will have other events possible to compete for prize money but not for points. Keep an eye on the Calender Page for these events. *******

 

 

The age groups for all the events include 5 & under,6 through 8, 9 through 12,13 through 15, and 16 through 19. The stick horse race and goat ribbon pull are open to the 5 & under age group and the 6 through 8 age group children only. It is permitted for a parent or an adult to lead a 5 & under child on a horse through the barrels and poles.

See our Calendar page for the scheduled rodeos in 2012. All the rodeos will be held at the Southern Middle Tennessee Pavilion in Winchester, Tn. Each child must be a member of the SMTYRA to compete at the rodeos. Memberships for individual children are $15 annually, and $25 for a family membership. Family membership applies to two or more children.
